Whether you're opening your first pharmacy or running one that isn't reaching its potential, we bring the expertise, systems, and connections you need to thrive in Kenya's fast-growing pharmaceutical market.

PPB licensing expertise

We know exactly what the Pharmacy & Poisons Board requires — from premises standards to superintendent pharmacist placement — so your application succeeds first time.

Growth for existing pharmacies

Already open but not hitting your targets? We audit your operations, stock management, staffing, and revenue streams — then build you a clear plan to grow profitably.

Kenyan market knowledge

From Nairobi's competitive estates to emerging opportunities in Kisumu, Nakuru, and Mombasa — we understand location, catchment areas, and what drives footfall.

Trusted supplier network

We connect you to licensed, reputable wholesalers and distributors — so you start with quality stock at competitive prices and keep shelves full profitably.

Insurance & SHA accreditation

We help both new and existing pharmacies get NHIF/SHA accredited — unlocking a major revenue stream by accepting insured patients from day one.

Full compliance, always

Controlled drugs protocols, staff record-keeping, and ongoing compliance — we make sure you're not just open, but protected against future regulatory issues.

Common questions

Frequently asked by aspiring pharmacy owners

Things we hear every day from entrepreneurs across Kenya.

Do I need to be a pharmacist to own a pharmacy in Kenya?
No — you do not need to be a licensed pharmacist yourself. However, Kenyan law requires every pharmacy to have a registered superintendent pharmacist on the premises during operating hours. We help you find and place a qualified superintendent pharmacist as part of our Standard and Premium packages.
How much capital do I need to open a pharmacy in Kenya?
Startup costs typically range from KES 500,000 to KES 2,000,000+, depending on location, premises size, and opening stock levels. This covers fit-out, stock, regulatory fees, and working capital. Our Full Setup Guide package includes a personalised startup cost plan for your specific situation.
How long does the PPB licensing process take?
The PPB process typically takes 6–12 weeks from the point of application, depending on inspection availability and whether your premises meet the required standards on first inspection. Our guidance significantly reduces the risk of rejection or costly delays.
Can you help me open a pharmacy outside Nairobi?
Yes — we work with clients across all 47 counties in Kenya. For Premium clients, we can attend the PPB inspection in person wherever your premises are located. Virtual support via WhatsApp and video call is available nationwide for all packages.
What happens if I pay my deposit and change my mind?
All terms are set out clearly in your written consultancy agreement before any payment is made. We are transparent about what is refundable and what is not depending on the stage reached. We recommend reading the agreement carefully before committing — and you're welcome to ask us anything via WhatsApp before you decide.
Can a foreigner or diaspora investor open a pharmacy in Kenya?
Yes, with the right business structure. Kenya allows foreign investment in the pharmaceutical retail sector, though there are specific ownership and management requirements to navigate. We have experience working with diaspora investors and can advise on the right structure for your situation.
